CASE STUDIES

We've helped more than 150 interested researchers save countless hours of work, create large multicentre trials, and connect biomedical innovators with clinical researchers. We thought we'd show off some case studies so you can understand how we work!

TRIGS

Expanding multi-centre trials across the globe

THE BACKGROUND

We approached the anaesthetic trial TRIGS' coordinators to see if they would benefit from having more clinical sites. At the time, they had around 35 interested hospitals.

POSTING ONLINE

The trial coordinator posted the project online. They requested additional clinical sites and principal investigators. We then advertised through email, social media, and other communication to find researchers.

RESULTS

Within 12 hours we had expression of interest from London. Within three months there were 20 expressions of interest from Australia, Singapore, England and India. Eight have progressed to local ethics.

NATO

Expanding multi-centre trials across Australia

THE BACKGROUND

We were approached by the anaesthetic trial NATO's principal investigator to see if we could find more hospitals to join the trial.

POSTING ONLINE

The principal investigator used the easy-to-use Post a Project form and submitted the project online. We then advertised through email, social media, and other communication to find researchers.

RESULTS

Within three months we had eight expressions of interest leading to four hospitals joining the trial.

NOISE-CANCELLING HEADPHONES

Gathering interest in early idea-stage research

THE BACKGROUND

An ICU team had a idea for a study looking at noise-cancelling headphones for delirium in ICU. The research protocol and ethics were not yet completed.

POSTING ONLINE

The project was posted online. The project was promoted through our email, social media and other communication

RESULTS

Despite being in such an early phase of design, this project had five expressions of interest from ICUs around Australia.

Iron WoMan

Connecting MedTech entrepreneurs with clinicians

THE BACKGROUND

A biomedical engineer from the CSIRO developed a point-of-care iron deficiency test and wanted to validate it on large cohorts of patients.

POSTING ONLINE

The project was posted online. The project was promoted through our network.

RESULTS

There were ten expressions of interest in just one month from a number of large metropolitan and regional hospitals in Australia

STATISTICS

Creating efficiency and accuracy in medical research

THE BACKGROUND

Five different junior researchers have approached us looking for help with statistics.

DIRECT COMMUNICATION

The junior researchers were linked directly with our in-house statisitician

RESULTS

Five junior researchers saved countless hours of their time, and had more precise statistics, by teaming up with a highly qualified biomedical statistician.

CABL

Turning single centre trials into multi-centre trials

THE BACKGROUND

A haematology research group based at a private hospital in Melbourne were looking to expand their trial to other hospitals.

POSTED ONLINE

The research team posted the project online and asked for additional clinical sites.

RESULTS

Through our network we connected them with hospitals in Perth, Melbourne and Geelong.

CANVAS

Helping trainee-led researchers go global

THE BACKGROUND

We were approached by a plastic surgery research group looking to expand their international multi-centre study.

POSTED ONLINE

The research team posted the project online and asked for additional clinical sites and data collectors. We advertised the project through email, social media and other communications.

RESULTS

There have been over six expressions of interest, and we have developed an ongoing partnership with the research group to help with other studies.
